Aquarium Keepers - Learn how to care for and monitor the health of NYHS's resident population of fish, turtles, and other aquatic species.
College Academy – Come in on Saturdays in the fall for professional help and support to get your personal statement and college application up to snuff so you will be accepted to your choice colleges or universities.
Electronic Music – Create and record your own tracks. Learn to drop a beat like the pros!
Garden Club – Plant vegetables, herbs and flowers in our garden and watch your plants grow up from seeds as you care for them.
Harbor Corps - Harbor Corps will be the youth voice of New York Harbor and the Hudson River Estuary. We will work closely with the Hudson Riverkeeper to become advocates for the health of New York Harbor. This is a job for students who are serious about the health of New York Harbor.
National Honor Society - A service and leadership organization for students who achieve academic excellence.
PSAL Sports - Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Track, Weight Training & Volleyball.
Rowing Team – Compete in Whitehall gigs at local competitions as well as traveling around the East Coast. Learn rowing and seamanship skills, get in shape, and represent NYHS.
Sailing Team – Sail throughout the New York Harbor honing your skills to racing level on a variety of small boats
Scuba Diving - Starting in our pool, work towards being a certified scuba diver who can explore underwater all over the world!
Step Team - Stepping exhibits movements and rhythms seen in African dance continent wide. However, even stronger similarities can be found in the dance expressions of South Africa, home of the powerful 'Gumboot Dance'. No experience necessary to learn this beautiful art form. Males and females welcome.
Student Workers - Earn money while contributing to the Harbor School's clerical functioning!
Surf Club – Travel to different spots on our coast and have fun catching the waves on real surfboards.
Vermiculture Club – With the help of our very own worms, compost the biological waste from Harbor School into fertile soil.
Yearbook - With photography, writing, computer graphics, and maybe even video, make something you and your classmates will share with your grandchildren.
