Laura Desmond

Laura Desmond is a Special Education Teacher with 10+ years in Education. Before embarking on a career in education Laura studied History and Modern Foreign Languages at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

She received a Masters in History and Documentary Filmmaking at the Newhouse School of Public Communications and Maxwell School of Social Sciences at Syracuse University.  After working in film in New York City, she spent a year teaching in Senegal where she found her passion as an educator.  She returned to the states and joined the New York City Teaching Fellows, and received a Masters in education from LIU.  

When she is not teaching she loves going on multi-day treks abroad, weekends in the Adirondacks, yoga, and watching Yankee games.
