Rebecca Resner

After graduating Roger Williams University with a degree in Marine Biology and a concentration in Aquaculture and Aquarium Sciences, I started working at a commercial shellfish hatchery on Long Island.

In 2018, I took a job as the Hatchery Manager for the Billion Oyster Project and started working very closely with the Aquaculture program at NYHS. After a couple of years working for BOP, I became the Aquaculture teacher in 2023! 

Fun Fact:

I have grown hundreds of millions oysters over my years working in the commercial industry. I raised oysters from spawn to table and I do not like to eat oysters - or much seafood to be totally honest!
