Good evening all,

Rob and I are excited to announce that the NY Harbor FFA had a great time attending the New York State Convention in Syracuse the last few days (over 3,400 people registered at the convention!!) It was the 100th convention and Governor Hochul broke ground on a new FFA building at the New York State Fairgrounds.

NY Harbor FFA came in first place yesterday in the aquaculture competition, making them the 2025 New York State Aquaculture Champions! The Aquaculture team consisted of Layla Bursar, Nico Capodanno, Annabel King and Martin Edeler.

3 students also placed individually in the Aquaculture Competition: Layla Bursar - 2nd place,  Nico Capodanno - 4th place and Annabel King - 5th place

Nico and Layla also each received The Empire Degree, the highest award in New York State.

Emily Farrell and Ellie White both received their personalized FFA jackets on stage!

The NY Harbor team of Layla, Annabel, Nico and Martin also made it to the finals in the Floriculture comp out of 50 competing teams!

Thank you for supporting the NY Harbor FFA Chapter. Keep in mind this chapter is open to all, each CTE has a pathway in these proceedings and we are looking to grow this chapter and bring urban agriculture, and sustainably to FFA. Moving forward FFA will be meeting after school on Tuesdays at the main building in room 201. Please encourage your students to come see what FFA can offer!

Check out the New York State FFA website for more info on FFA!
