Dear Harbor School Community,
You are receiving this email to let you know about a new program that offers free college tuition at a SUNY or CUNY school.

Thanks to Gov. Hochul’s new Opportunity Promise Scholarship, adult New Yorkers (ages 25-55) will receive free CUNY or SUNY community college tuition during the 2025-26 academic year for degree programs in high-demand fields, like Education. (Other fields are available as well.) CUNY/SUNY Reconnect is an initiative to help more adults return to higher education. It’s a great opportunity to pursue an associate degree and advance your career.
To be eligible for free tuition in a high-demand field at a CUNY or SUNY community college, you must meet the following criteria:
You must be a New York State resident
You must be between the ages of 25-55 years old
You must not possess a college degree
You are planning to study full-time or part-time in an eligible degree program
Whether your goal is to learn new skills, boost your career, or complete a degree or certificate program, Reconnect provides personalized support to help you navigate your next move. Apply this summer and start this fall (2025) on campus or online!
