Dear Class of 2026 Students and Families,
I hope your spring semester is off to a great start! As we look toward graduation and the exciting transition to college, I am writing to share a significant financial aid opportunity specifically for graduating seniors.
The Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship
The New York Urban League is currently accepting applications for the 2026 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship. Awards range from $2,000 to $10,000 for students enrolling in college for the Fall 2026 semester.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this award, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Residency: Must be a New York City resident.
Heritage: At least 50% African American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and/or Native American/Indigenous heritage.
Academic Status: Graduating high school seniors or recent graduates.
College Plans: Accepted full-time at an accredited Associate or Bachelor’s program for Fall 2026.
Character: Demonstrated leadership and a strong commitment to community service.

Virtual Info Session: Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM EST.
