SUNY New Paltz Summer Honors Program

Request for Student Referrals

Grade 11 Team,

I’m reaching out to request student referrals for a Summer Honors Program at SUNY New Paltz for current juniors.

This is a week-long residential program in July 2026, and students who successfully complete it receive conditional admission to SUNY New Paltz for Fall 2027. The program includes faculty-led college coursework, workshops on college access and financing, and structured excursions.

The program is nomination-based and is intended for students who:• Have a cumulative GPA of 86+• Demonstrate leadership and engagement• Are involved in school and/or community service• May be first-generation, low-income, Pell-eligible, or veteran-affiliated

If you have students in mind who you believe would benefit from this experience and represent our school well, please email me their names along with a brief note about why you recommend them.
